Main Projects:

Estimating: Course work experience is a culmination of two estimating courses. In both courses we performed quantity take-offs using plans from medium sized pre-existing commercial projects, entered Q.T.O data into excel, and estimated costs.

Scheduling 1: study of relationships between activities, assigning predecessors, sucessors, creating logic diagrams, etc.

Scheduling 2: each student was given plans for a pre-existing commercial project.  The project was broken down into between 300-400 activities.  After creation of activities we then entered them into Primavera P6 after creating a WBS and assigned relationships among activities, assigned material equipment and labor resources, and entered our estimated cost for each resource per activity.  After our schedule was complete we prepared a binder approx. 1"-2" thick of different reports that we created by using filters, changing data dates, updating the schedule from our primary baseline, etc.

SENIOR PROJECT:

Create Construction Business:

research laws for licensing a business, obtaining the necessary certifications, perform cost analysis on construction build out of main office building, estimate overhead. We also created an organizational structure for out company and assigned salaries and job duties for each employee as well as interelationships between employees.

Estimate a Project:

Each student performed an estimate from a small pre-existing commercial project by means of performing Q.T.O on plans and entering data into excel. For this project we obtained online quotes, researched costs online, etc. to become familiar with actual prices for material and labor.

Schedule the Project:

Each student prepared between 200-300 activities from the estimated project and entered them into Primavera P6 in addition to the following tasks: assigning WBS to schedule, assigning relationships among activities, assigning resources to activities and linking them to the proper WBS element, cost loading the schedule, etc. When the schedule was complete each student prepared a binder 3"-4" thick with different reports from using filters, updating the schedule from the Primary Baseline, changing bars view, etc.
